Iphone Light : Apple'S Budgeted Phone

HARFWARE: There’s little that’s been mentioned about the cheap iPhone’s internal spec but it’s naturally expected it’ll be lower than the iPhone 5. The next flagship is rumoured to sport either an Apple A6X chip, the same processor currently found in the iPad 4, or it may use a new A7 chip instead.
We expect the cheap iPhone will use one of Apple’s existing processors, but this could be anything from the A4 to the A5X.
It’s also not clear what kind of storage variants might be available. Apple has consistently delivered options for 16GB, 32GB and 64GB across its product range, but these have all been premium devices.

With a cheap iPhone Apple may choose to offer just the 16GB version and may even introduce a smaller 8GB model. We don’t expect the lack of a micro SD slot to change, however.

CAMERA: Apple has filed patents for an iPhone design that doesn’t have a front-facing camera, which would mean no FaceTime video calls. With FaceTime being a key selling point of its products we’re not so sure Apple will follow this route. On the rear we can expect some form of iSight camera, probably around 5-megapixels.
Update 01/07/2013:Leaked back panels and diagram pictures have now shown the iPhone Light will have a single LED flash. Very little else is known about the camera at this point, however.

SOFTWARE: Just because it’s a cheap iPhone doesn’t meant it won’t have the latest version of Apple’s iOS operating system. By the time the phone arrives this should be iOS 7, which will sport a new re-design courtesy of Jony Ive, who has produces a cleaner and ‘flatter’ look in-line with Apple’s exterior design (also created by Ive).

iOS 7 was unveiled at WWDC 2013 in June where Apple's flatter style was finally shown off. Reactions to the aesthetic were mixed but fundamentally iOS 7 added a lot of new functionality including a proper multitasking menu, quick settings, a better notifications screen and much more besides, as well as the introduction of extra services like iTunes Radio music streaming.
